Routine Dental Services

Dr. Chaudhry provides comprehensive family and pediatric dentistry services in Troy MI. Our patient-focused dental office uses state of the art technology and advanced dentistry techniques to improve our patient’s experience and deliver the dental care you need.

Check-Ups and Cleaning

We recommend visits at least every 6 months so Dr. Chaudhry and the team at Somerset Dentistry can conduct a thorough exam of your teeth and gums.

During your exam our hygienists gently clean and polish your teeth. They will take diagnostic x-rays if they are due, which Dr. Chaudhry will review with you as she conducts these routine services:

  • Oral cancer screening
  • Periodontal screening (for gum disease)
  • Dental caries (cavities) screening
  • Examination of temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and jaw position

Deep Cleaning

Deep dental cleaning is used to treat gum disease. It’s similar to how a hygienist typically cleans your teeth but focuses on the outer surface of the roots and below your gum line. This special cleaning is needed when tartar buildup has caused infection of the gums. Loss of this connective tissue can lead to bone loss and, eventually, tooth loss.

TMJ/TMD Treatment

If you are experiencing discomfort in your jaw joint, Dr. Chaudhry can offer remedies to help alleviate pain and dysfunction you may be experiencing. This is a common side effect of clenching or grinding your jaw.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is focused on restoring health, aesthetics, and function to teeth that are broken, worn down or missing. From your first visit to the day your customized treatment plan is complete, you receive compassionate care that produces lasting results.

Fillings

If you’ve experienced a painful cavity or cracked tooth, you understand the benefits of a high-quality dental filling. Today’s fillings are safer and more durable than ever. Dr. Chaudhry will discuss the different materials available and help you decide what’s best for you.

Dentures and Partials

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available — complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. Dr. Chaudhry will work with you to determine the best option for you.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and bridges replace lost teeth or tooth structure. Missing teeth affect much more thank you smile, they can lead to nutritional deficits and impact your ability to speak. These crowns and bridges get permanently placed for a more natural feeling and lifestyle. Crowns can be used to protect a weak tooth, restore a broken tooth, hold a bridge in place, or cover dental implants.

Root Canals

If someone tells you a horror story about a root canal, take it with a grain of salt. Root canals aren’t as bad as you may think. In reality, root canals are an effective way to save your teeth while reducing pain. If Dr. Chaudhry recommends a root canal, she will take the time to answer all your questions, making sure you understand what to expect during the procedure and how to avoid as much discomfort as possible while healing.

Dental Implants

If you’ve lost a tooth, your best option for replacing it is a dental implant. Implants are the next closest thing to your natural tooth. It preserves the jaw bone just as your natural teeth would. Implants can replace as few as one tooth or as many as all your teeth.

Dr. Chaudhry can help you determine if implants are the right option for you.

  • Broken, chipped or cracked tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to your face and call (248) 781-8900. If the tooth was broken or chipped, bring the tooth fragment wrapped in wet gauze or a wet towel.

  • Loosened or knocked-out tooth: If your tooth becomes loose due to trauma, call (248) 781-8900 immediately.
